Ministry & education
Evangelist Gwendolyn D. McRae is a licensed and ordained evangelist in the Lord’s Church with thirty years of ministry experience. Her pastoral work meets people where they are — in grief, in transition, in the quiet middle of a story that hasn’t reached its turn yet — and walks them patiently toward healing, identity, and purpose in Christ.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Counseling and is currently completing a Master’s in Christian Counseling. Alongside her ministry, she spent five years as a Program Manager for a clinical outpatient counseling group, where she learned how careful intake, clear structure, and well-run care teams hold a person steady while they change.
The RESET model
RESET is a model Evangelist McRae developed out of her master’s studies and her years of program work — five phases that walk a person from pain to purpose.
Evangelist McRae provides biblical pastoral care and coaching. She is not a licensed clinical counselor or clinician, and RCCI’s services are not psychotherapy, diagnosis, or emergency care.

The story behind RESET
I Am the Woman Who Needed RESET.
This is the personal story behind RESET, not a limit on who belongs here. RCCI welcomes individuals, couples, families, caregivers, men and women from every walk of life.
I know what it is to carry a story you cannot say out loud.
I grew up in the church, and I grew up carrying things no child should carry — abuse and abandonment in the very years that were supposed to be safe. I learned to pray long before I had any way to let prayer reach the places where I was actually hurting.
Later I lived through an abusive marriage, and the same question followed me: if I prayed, if I read Scripture, if I served, why did I still not know how to value what God says I am? My sense of worth and identity had been shaped by what was done to me, and information alone was not undoing that.
The guidance I was given came down to two instructions — pray, and read the Bible and apply it. Both are true, and I would not trade either one. What I did not have was a practical way to connect Scripture to healing, to boundaries, to the emotional patterns I kept repeating, to the ordinary rhythm of daily life.
“I had been told what to do, but I had not always been given the tools to understand how to do it.”
At fifty years old, I have come to a deeper revelation of who God is and who I am in Him. I am not finished being healed. What has changed is that I can no longer keep quiet about what He has taught me.
RESET is what came out of that. It rests on my lived experience, and it also rests on thirty years of ministry, my Bachelor’s degree in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Counseling, and the master’s work I am still completing. Its five phases — Recover, Establish, Strengthen, Embrace, Teach — are the order I wish someone had handed me.
Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). My prayer is that someone who finds this page will take the first step toward that life — and one day walk someone else the same way.
Your story isn’t over. Keep Walking in Freedom and Stay Unchained.
